Harold G Walker Solicitors Helps Pop 4 Diabetes Raise Over £6,000 at Charity Gala Ball
Local charity Pop 4 Diabetes are proud to announce the success of its most recent James Bond-themed fundraiser which took place at the Village Hotel in Bournemouth on Saturday 14th October. The gala evening was sponsored by local legal firm, Harold G Walker Solicitors and raised over £6,000 to fund pioneering research into finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
More than 150 guests attended the black-tie dinner and enjoyed a sparkling reception, followed by a three-course meal at the Bournemouth Hotel. Guests were joined by celebrity soap stars Jamie Borthwick, Harry Reid and John Middleton, as well as daytime TV’s ‘Can’t Pay? We’ll Take it Away’ bailiff Paul Bohill.
Entertainment was provided by Swing Unlimited Big Band and local performers showcasing a wide variety of talent including, dancing, singing and magic tricks. The main event of the evening was the silent auction featuring a wide range of exclusive lots ranging from safari holidays, experience days to signed memorabilia from sporting legends.
One of the highlights of the evening was the Child of Courage Award, which went to Lillie Dodd and Toby Ward who both suffer from Type 1 Diabetes. The award recognises and celebrates the courageous individuals who have overcome extreme hardship in living with the incurable disease.
