Learning to Support Clients with Dementia
Training Session with Caroline Hearne at The Potteries, Attended by the HGW Team
At HGW Solicitors, we believe in caring for every client with respect, compassion, and understanding – especially those who may be more vulnerable. This week, our team took part in a Dementia Friendly Training session delivered by Caroline Hearne at The Potteries Care Home in Broadstone.
We were warmly welcomed by the team at The Potteries, and Caroline led the session with professionalism and empathy. The training gave us a deeper understanding of how dementia affects people and offered practical ways we can better support our clients who live with it. It was informative, thought-provoking, and a reminder that thoughtful communication and patience can make a real difference.
As Nicola Lowe reminds us: ‘The person is more than the dementia. Our client is more than an individual with a legal problem.’
This simple yet powerful message is central to how we work at HGW Solicitors. We see the person behind every case, and we are always looking for ways to improve how we serve our clients.
This session is just one example of how we continue to build on our recent achievement of the Client Care Accreditation. We are proud to invest in training that strengthens our ability to provide truly person-focused legal support.
A heartfelt thank you to Caroline Hearne for sharing her knowledge and to The Potteries Care Home for their kind hospitality.
At HGW Solicitors, caring for people is more than a value – it is part of everything we do.
